Business Development Intern

June - Nov. 2020

As a business development intern for Vestaron, I work closely with Andy Renz, Vice President of Business Development.  I've worked on projects exploring new opportunities for Vestaron's technology and novel formulations.  This includes market research, outreach to industry experts, and conducting analysis to make market predictions.

I currently work as a lab technician for Charles River's Discovery Site in Morrisville, NC.  My primary focus is on cell culture including maintenance and scale up of multiple human and murine cell lines.  I'm also required to process various murine tissues into single cell suspensions for further FLOW analysis.  I have assisted with cell line transductions, including generating luciferase tagged lines.

Research Technician

Nov. 2015-Jan. 2019

Prior to my shift into tissue culture, I worked as a research technician, responsible for in vivo study execution.  My role was multi-faceted as I was required to complete all aspects of the study from start to finish.  The in-life responsibilities included implantation of tumor cells, dosing solution formulation, murine dosing (IV, SQ, IP and PO), live sample collection, and animal monitoring.  End of study tasks involved extensive sample collection and occasionally processing.  I was trained to complete a minimally invasive orthotopic procedure as well.

I was unique to our site as the first technician to hold a role in our formulation department.  I provided support to the compound manager, and absorbed her duties when she was unavailable.  Moreover, I helped with development of our bioimaging platform.  This included in vivo and ex vivo bioluminescent and fluorescent image collection and subsequent analysis.
